For this review, I will be focusing on the 2007 version, although the two are practically interchangeable (something to keep in mind while you’re reading). I mean she is just acting, and none of this is real, come-on its Naomi Watts. Biased of the sheer fact she is such a recognizable face it can sometimes bring a viewer out of the atmosphere. Where the 1997 version is terrifying and there is nothing to draw you out of the film (it creates such believable verisimilitude) in the 2007 version Naomi Watts is the star. The reason I gave the 1997 version of this film a 9/10 and the US 2007 version only an 8/10 is simply because of the actors cast. Although having watched the newer version, I really appreciate the angle Michael Haneke took with this film and his previous film of the same name. This film became my favorite home invasion film about 15 minutes in, after month of watching countless films in this sub-genre of horror, Funny Games, really was a stand-out film (in my humble opinion).

Where you can view it (as of 11/12/17): Amazon Video Unrated, 1h 48min: Crime, Drama, Thriller So nice Michael Haneke made it twice, shot for shot. I am starting back with a film I promised you I would write about a couple weeks ago, Funny Games. HOWEVER, I am back and here to stay as my life becomes easier to balance.

So therefore, Horror Film Mondays fell to the wayside as of late, for that I am deeply sorry. Not to mention my job at is coming to an end, as the entire site is closing down come the end of this month, so I had to close everything on that front (I plan on posting those articles either on this blog or pending me getting hired to write on another site, on there I’ll keep you updated). Having a month straight of tests, all on Mondays nonetheless, has taken a toll on me and my writing.
